Welsh Whisky Distilleries

Made in the

heart of Wales

Expansive grassy landscape with rolling hills under a blue sky with scattered clouds.

Welsh whisky distilling originated in the heart of rural Wales.

Legend has it that whisky was first made in Wales in the Middle Ages. However, the first licenced distillery allegedly occurred in 1705 in Dale, Pembrokeshire. It’s long awaited revival took place in 2000, when the first modern distillery began producing “Welsh Single Malt Whisky” in the rugged Brecon Beacons.

Now with 11 working distilleries and counting, Welsh whisky has firmly established itself in the World whisky market.
